TTS - Back in the offshore cranes market 22.01.2007

TTS Marine ASA’s cranes division in Norway has landed contracts worth approximately NOK 126m. The contracts concern delivery of offshore cranes and the delivery will take place from spring 2008 till the end of 2009.

As a result of agreements entered into in connection with an acquisition five years ago, TTS has not been an active player in the offshore cranes market for bigger offshore cranes. These agreements have now expired and TTS is intensively targeting this market again. A brisk market for offshore cranes, combined with existing customer relations and qualifications, is expected to result in several contracts concerning delivery of offshore cranes in future.
The market prospects are very good for the next years to come.

The biggest contract worth approximately NOK 107m has been signed with the ship-owner Active Subsea AS, Ålesund, Norway.  The shipping company has all together ordered 6 cranes to vessels which are contracted in India.  The cranes will have a lifting capacity of 60 tonnes and have equipment for heave compensation. The active heave compensation system (AHC) enables the cranes to operate up to 2000 metres depth even in rough sea. TTS has delivered similar cranes in the past.

In addition to the deliveries above, TTS has landed orders for two offshore cranes without active heave (worth approximately NOK 19m) for delivery to the shipping company Vroon Offshore Services B.V, Netherlands,
